To the joy and delight of it's many fans, the Wonder Ball is back on the market! This milk chocolate ball filled with tiny candy treats was incredibly popular in the 1990s and early 2000s when Nestlé produced the treat. Initially, the product was called the Nestlé Magic Ball and contained a small plastic toy inside a milk chocolate ball. Due to complaints that the small toy could be a choking hazard, it was removed from the market entirely and replaced years later with the milk chocolate ball filled with small candies that we know today.
In 2004, Nestlé sold the Wonder Ball brand to the Frankford Candy Co. who released the treat depicting Nickelodeon's SpongeBob Squarepants. Unfortunately, the confection was discontinued after it failed to meet new nutritional guidelines put in place by Nickelodeon and their partners.
Since then, there have been numerous fans of the Wonder Ball who have petitioned to have the candy put back on the market again. Frankford Candy Co. has responded to the demand for the Wonder Ball by re-releasing the treat which now features the Despicable Me Minions. Each hollow milk chocolate ball is filled with adorable candies in 6 flavors and 6 shapes. You never know what you're going to get!
