Here at Royal Wholesale, we do everything we can to supply you with the best possible products and services so that you can run your business efficiently and effectively. Sometimes, though, there are circumstances beyond our control that prevent us from doing so. One such circumstance is manufacturer product shortages. We understand that it's incredibly frustrating when you can't get the candy and confectionery products that you're accustomed to having access to. Trust us, we feel your pain. It frustrates us just as much that we're unable to get these products in stock for you. The least we feel like we can do is keep you updated on product shortages so that you know what to expect and can plan accordingly. Currently, we are experiencing product shortages from Albanese Confectionery and Mondelez International. Below is the information we've received from these companies that we would like to pass along to you for your reference.
Albanese ordered new production machinery 18 months ahead of their projected needs, but product demand has far exceeded their projections causing them to run out of many items. They expect the new machinery to be up and running before the end of 2018 to prevent any further shortages. They are currently focusing production on their most popular products, which they expect to have back in stock by August 15, 2018, while the rest of their product line is expected to be available again by October 15, 2018.
Mondelez is currently experiencing low service levels across their candy portfolio due to intermittent shortages on a select number of Swedish Fish and Sour Patch Kids items. They are recommending that all promotional activities for these items be eliminated from September 2018 through year-end. At this time, they have not announced a date for full recovery, but we will keep you posted as soon as we get any new information.
