A Sweet Time At The Sweet & Snacks Expo

Each year, the staff here at Royal Wholesale attends a variety of industry related shows and expos, but our favorite by far is the National Confectioners Association Sweets and Snacks Expo.
We love traveling to Chicago's McCormick Place to see what the 800+ exhibitors have to showcase and we have a blast walking the show floor with more than 17,000 other confectionery and snack professionals. It's amazing to see the new brands and product innovations that debut at the show and watch how they grow in the coming years. It's certainly a wonderful opportunity for us as a wholesale distributor to seek out the best products to add to our inventory for our customers.
As far as new products go, this year's Sweets & Snacks Expo certainly did not disappoint. There were over 100 new products on display! Some of our favorites included Toxic Waste Mystery Flavor Slime Lickers, Smarties Gummies and PEZ Dispensers featuring characters from Despicable Me 3, My Little Pony, Nintendo, Paw Patrol, Transformers and Marvel!
Many of the new products at the show focused on nutrition and better-for-you ingredients in an effort to meet consumer demand for healthier snacks and indulgences. This is also a major theme in the candy and snack industry as a whole as many manufacturers are striving for greater transparency when it comes to ingredients, sugar content and serving sizes. You couldn''t take more than two steps at this year's expo without seeing a product marked all-natural, organic, non-GMO, gluten-free, sugar-free, vegan Many of the products sported more than one of these healthy keywords that are expected to drive snack and confectionery sales in the coming years. Royal Wholesale currently offers many of these better-for-you products, but we're looking forward to expanding our selection after seeing the intriguing new items at the expo.
Overall, our experience at the Sweets & Snacks Expo was definitely a sweet one! We had a wonderful time exploring, meeting new people, catching up with old friends, and learning a ton of new information to help us better serve our customers. We're already looking forward to the 2018 show! Hope to see you there!
